The red machine generates non-renewable energy by consuming wood, the blue machine generates renewable energy by using water, the machine with a tree symbol produces wood by expending energy, the machine with a stone symbol produces stone by expending energy, and the machine with a water symbol produces water by expending energy.

However, seeds produce oxygen by using water. To purchase land, you need both energy and water; without them, you cannot expand your territory. If the oxygen runs out, it's game over.
